For the European Under 23 Fencing Championships

It 'a great honour for Monza host the first edition of the European Fencing Championship Under 23 male and female that will see the presence of 400 athletes. Our city once again is on stage with an international sporting event of great importance for its ability to develop young athletes.
Thanks to the organisers, in particular to the company BrianzaScherma which in recent years has led to numerous athletes of Monza limelight. As far as our administration, as Mayor, I am honored to bring greetings to the athletes, their escorts, represented federations, international arbitrators and all staff of the organization. In this three day dedicated to fencing, Monza testifies to have all the requirements to host sporting events of the highest level.
The organizers did know that in Corsican competition there will be 500 "attacks". I like to say, then, that the best "attack" will be pleasantly what will our city from all those young athletes that the Europeans will flood in mid-May.
